Amanda Adrianna Duran, 14, went home to be with the Lord on April 3, 2004. She was born on May 18, 1989. She is survived by her mother, Dolores Duran and husband Jesus Tapia; father, Adrian Duran and wife Nanette Baca; sisters, Ashley and Adryan Duran; brother, Jesus Tapia Jr.; maternal grandparents, Juan and Nora Maestas; paternal grandmother, "Nana"Diana Duran; paternal grandparents, Richard and Ramona Gomez; grandparents, Tony and Stella Tapia and Narciso and Marie Baca ; great grandparents, Bill and Dolores Olson and Pita Maestas; uncles, Armando Maestas and Bernadette, Juan Maestas Jr. and LaVern and Robert Gomez and Lynn; aunts, Diane Maestas and Manuel, Ramona Maestas and Jose, Romaine Kohler and Paul and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Amanda was a ninth grade student at Los Lunas High School/Career Academy. She was studying Culinary Arts, had been in J.R.O.T.C. She had also been a member of Isshin Ryn Karate Club. Amanda loved dancing and studied at Baila Baila, she also studied piano and flute and she loved to draw. Amanda was a happy, very joyful and much loved daughter and sister and was loved by many. Visitations will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. also at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adrian Duran, Jesus Tapia, Armando Maestas, Robert Maestas, Robert Gomez and Tim Linton. Honorary pallbearers will be Ashley and Adryan Duran.
