Delia Liggins was born on March 7, 1933 to Cleveland and Mary Bob in Opelousas, LA. She married the late Aron Liggins in 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK. They were blessed with their first child shortly thereafter in Midland, TX. Mrs. Liggins moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1961 and united with three different local churches within her lifetime - the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, the Bella Vista Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church. She continued to be an excellent helpmate to her husband, loving mother, and a good friend to many. On February 25, 2004, Mrs. Liggins went home to be with the Lord, and rejoicing and praising God for her life are her three children, Barbara Perry of Albuquerque, NM, Odell Liggins and wife, Sharon of Arlington, TX, and Mary Liggins of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Brandi Perry, Venida and Jay Liggins, Amber and Rowland Liggins; and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Marcelete Reed and husband, Joseph of Opelousas, LA and Lucille Thomas and husband, Leroy of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, Camille Bob of Opelousas, LA and John Bob of Shreveport, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM with Pastor Steve Taylor, officiating.
