Dorothy G. Marlitt, born in Long Beach, CA and long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004. She was preceded in death in 1974 by her husband, Bob, a retired naval officer. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Marlene Elkins and husband, Neil, of St. George, UT; son, Douglas Marlitt and wife, Deanna, of San Martin, CA; and granddaughter Rebecca Marlitt of Santa Clara, CA. As a Navy wife, Dorothy raised her family in many worldwide locals. She also worked in these many locations in jobs that included various secretarial responsibilities and nursing assistant duties. In Albuquerque, Dorothy volunteered her time at many organizations. For over 11 years she volunteered at Catholic Social Services as a driver and coordinator. She also sewed many items of children's clothing and tote bags which she donated to charity. Dorothy also volunteered at Meals on Wheels and tutored children under the Oasis Program and adults through TVI. Dorothy enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing Bridge with her friends in Albuquerque. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 3, 11:00 am, at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to charities of choice. Interment will take place in Long Beach, CA next to her husband.
