Glennamae"TOTSY" Hadley, 75, of Las Cruces, N.M., formerly of Aurora, Neb., died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Cottonbloom Assisted Living Center. Born December 2, 1928, Glennamae "Totsy" Scott grew up in Hotchkiss, Colo., and graduated in 1946 from Paonia Colorado High School. After High School, Totsy attended Colorado Women's College in Denver. She married Jack Hadley in Kent Washington, on December 12, 1947, and supported him through Colorado State University Veterinary School before they moved to Aurora in the summer of 1954. In January of 1981, after Jack spent 30 years in private practice, Jack and Totsy moved to Nebraska where Jack became a field consultant for Norden Laboratories. While in Lincoln, Totsy enjoyed working as a volunteer with the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. She and Jack were also active in the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA); in fact, Totsy became a lifetime member of the Auxiliary to the AVMA in January 1994. Totsy moved to Las Cruces in the fall of 1996 to be near her daughter, Tracy. In May of 2000, she sold her home in Las Cruces and moved to Cottonbloom Assisted Living Center. Totsy enjoyed the changing colors of the Organ Mountains, dancing and singing with her newfound friends of Cottonbloom, listening to country music and attending her first rodeo. Those family members left to tell stories of Totsy and laugh at the memories are her children, Scott Hadley and his wife, Brenda, of Gibson, La., Scott's daughter, Shanna and her husband, Chris Pollock and their daughter, Hadley who is Totsy's great-grandchild from Louisville, Ken.; John and his wife, Claudia and their daughter, Nicole of Las Cruces; Dr. Terrell Hadley and his wife, Kathy of Atwood, Kansas, and their children, Ryan, Miranda, Elise, Tia and Shay; and her daughter, Tracy Hadley of Las Cruces. Totsy is also survived by sisters, Betty Scott of Las Vegas, Nev., and Barbara and her husband, Mike Vahrenwald of Mexico. Totsy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Irene Scott, formerly of Salida, Colo. and her brother, Robert Scott of Denver, Colorado. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Cottonbloom Assisted Living Center in Las Cruces. Her ashes will be returned to Aurora to rest beside her daughter, Sheri Kay, who died at birth November 12, 1956, and beside her husband, Dr. Jack Hadley, who died unexpectedly January 28, 1989. A Service will be held May 14, 2004 in Aurora at St. Mary's Catholic Church. In attendance will be family and friends to celebrate Totsy and Jack's lives in Aurora, where the two of them raised a family, started a veterinary practice and created everlasting memories. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Jack & Totsy Hadley Memorial Fund for Animals. The funds from this memorial will be used to help provide supplemental financial assistance to pet owners in the Las Cruces/ Dona Ana County area. Dr. Carol Calista of CALISTA ANIMAL HOSPITAL, 162 Wyatt Drive, Las Cruces, NM, 88005, manages the fund. The fund is named in their honor since the care and nurturing of animals was an important part of Jack and Totsy's lives.
