Obituary for CURL

Duane A. Curl, 77, a resident of Corrales, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2004. Duane was born on August 21, 1926 in Tyndall, South Dakota to Walter L. Curl and Nettie Felton. He is preceded in death by his parents and his three sisters Viola Williams, Beulah Gunn, and Sylvia Vilhauer. Duane is survived by his wife Ivy (Romero) Curl; his daughters Karen Gray of Madison, AL, Tywla Marford and husband Charles of Redding, CA; step-children Judi Bowman, Bob Schenk and wife Debbie of Rio Rancho, NM; a special nephew Glen Vilhauer and wife, Faye of Bailey, CO, a special niece, Lana Williams and husband, Will of Littleton, CO; six grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews Duane was an avid reader and enjoyed his time outdoors. He spent a lot of time RV'ing and working on jigsaw puzzles. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Post 611. A Memorial Service for Mr. Curl will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Road at Meadowlark Lane in Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, Duane's family would appreciate donations in his name to the Alzheimers Association New Mexico Chapter, 8100 Mountain Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
