Obituary for PAIZ

Andy M. Paiz went home to our Lord on March 24, 2004. He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Paiz; and brothers, Richard (Dickie) Lopez and Richard Christilaw. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lydia Paiz; children, Julie Brown and her husband, Gus, Mark Paiz, Richard (Ricky) Paiz and his wife, Loretta, Steven Paiz and his wife, Liz; grandchildren, Jeffery, Joshua, and Justin Brown, Philip and Richard Paiz, Timothy Andazola, Jennifer Carbajal (Lorenzo); great-grandchildren, Simmone Andazola, Branndon and Lyndon Montoya; his mother, Albita Lopez; sisters, Irene Gallegos (Louis), Rosalie Sandoval (Rudy), Oleta Gurule (Ramon); brothers, Nestor Paiz and Justo Lopez; sisters-in-law, Cirila Leal (Richard) and Kathy Trujillo; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Trujillo (Ellie) and Chris Trujillo (Irene); and numerous nieces and nephews. He had 13 Godchildren. Andy loved his family especially his grandchildren. He loved to fish, hunt, and being in the mountains. He especially loved the time he spent with his closest and dearest long-time friend, Leroy Sandoval. Andy was a retiree of the City of Albuquerque. He was Presbyterian Hospital's 50th heart transplant recipient. He was a long active parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, a member of the American Legion and the VFW, and was very active in Organ Donation Awareness Programs. Rosary will be recited Sunday, March 28th, 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Services will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Andy's name to the Spiritual Renewal Center, Inc., 6400 Coors Rd., NW, Albuq., NM 87120 or the Hoyt Memorial Transplant Endowment under the Presbyterian Health Care Foundation, P.O. Box 2666, Albuq., NM 87125-6666.
