Obituary for MCCARTY

Jasper "Newt" McCarty, 69, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Thursday, March 11, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Joan of 39 years; daughter, Jillene Jones and husband, Dave, all of Rio Rancho; sons, Newt McCarty and wife, Amy of Albuquerque and Jonathan McCarty and wife, Suzanne of Peralta; eight grandchildren, Tanner and Morgan Rawson, Lilly, Karina and Rhett McCarty, Levi, Jacob and Noah McCarty; sister, Luana Hopkins of Vinita, OK; and brother, David W. McCarty and Ruth Des Jardins of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. McCarty was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Navy. He was founder of Joan's Chili Pepper Emporium and formerly associated with Mac's Steak in the Rough restaurants. He will be dearly remembered as a loving and devoted, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Si Budagher officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
