Evelyn A. Merrill, 79, passed away on February 23, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Buffalo, NY, to Harry and Amelia Kolb Merrill. She was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Over 25 years ago, she moved from Buffalo to Albuquerque where she worked in healthcare at Kirtland Air Force Base before retiring and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Forestry Service, American Legion, WAVES National, Republican Women, Einstein Society, American Business Women's Association, and Order of the Eastern Star. In 2003 Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Merrill. She is survived by her son, Michael Wannenwetsch and a very special and adored granddaughter, Amelia Wannenwetsch, both of Albuquerque. Also surviving are a sister, Vivian Miller of Buffalo, NY; brother, Franklin Merrill and wife, Doty of Buffalo, NY; loving sister-in-law, Charlotte Merrill; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to send heartfelt thanks to the Staff of Ladera Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Staff of VistaCare Hospice.
