Mary Nichols Baker, beloved wife of 62 years of SGM John H. Baker, Jr., passed away on March 9, 2004. She is survived by her husband; brother-in-law, Charles Baker and wife, Steffi of Leesburg, FL; six brothers and sisters, Lula Sheridan of Columbia, SC, Eleanor Denny, Aztec, NM, Marguerite Goon and husband, Carroll of Albuquerque, Nick Nichols and wife, Cleo of Sumter, SC, Gloria Kerr and husband Bill of Durham, NC, and George Nichols and wife, Mary Ann of Greenwood, SC; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mary attended the Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. She was active in the Ko Shari Garden Club in Albuquerque. She was a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Sumter, SC and was a volunteer worker for the American Red Cross and the VA. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Sunrise Funeral Options, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joy Junction, PO Box 27693, Albuquerque, NM 87125. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Kusumoto and the staff at Lovelace Medical Center for their kindness.
