Mrs. Sofie N. Salas, 62 , a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 9, 2004 with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Salas is survived by her beloved husband of forty-six years, Henry; her son, Robert Ray Salas and wife, June; her daughter, Nancy C.M.S. Fishel and husband, John; four sisters, Premia Haag, Bennie Gallegos and husband, Alfred, Lilly Diaz and husband, Hector and Dora Garcia and husband, Ernesto; two brothers, Johnnie Gabaldon and wife, Theresa and Ruben Gabaldon and wife, Kathy; one step brother, Willie Zamora and wife, Jennie; three grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel and Joseph Salas; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Salas was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 563 Atrisco SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Santos Abeyta. Final visitation will be Friday morning at the Church from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by a Franciscan Friar. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Salas, Tom Marez, Artie Salas, Betty Roybal, Charlie Salas, and John Fishel. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Griego, Jacob Salas, Rachel Salas, Joseph Salas, Nichole Leyba, Santiago Manowar and Santiago Rodriguez.
