Obituary for MORRISON

Ben Morrison. We lost Ben on March 5, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Ben Jr. and Tracy and his wife, Debbie, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Belinda of Enid, OK; ten grandchildren, Ben and Sara Dillon, Michelle Breitencamp, Stephen Dillon, Amy Dillon, Dara Morrison, James Morrison Jeffrey Goetz, Traci Morrison, Rebecca Morrison, and 1 great grandchild, Austin Ramos; two brothers, Roy Morrison and Cecil Morrison; two sisters, Ida Morrison and Lavelle Nagel; four stepsons, Terry Bixler and his wife Ann of Denver, CO, Mike Bixler and his wife Carolyn of Aztec, NM, Marty Bixler of Aztec, NM, and Joel Bixler and his wife Brenda of Denver, CO. Ben was born on a farm near Brownwood, TX in 1918 to Charles and Ida Morrison. He went to May High School and participated in their sports programs. He attended Sam Houston University until World War II started. He joined the Army and served in the European Theatre. When the war was over, he volunteered to stay in Germany for another year and served at the Nuremburg trials. He then completed college and graduated from Sam Houston University. Ben came to New Mexico in 1960. He lived in Albuquerque, except for the nine years he spent in Socorro. Ben loves playing bridge, square dancing, and gardening, especially the flowers that decorated his backyard. Most of all, Ben loved his church and family and everyone loved Ben. He leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends and his church family. Services will be held at the Taylor Ranch Baptist Church, 6400 Golf Course Rd. NW on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Tim Marrow, officiating. Friends may visit at French Mortuary- Westside Chapel on Saturday, March 6, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Taylor Ranch Baptist Church, 6400 Golf Course Rd.
