MSGT Victor S. Prawdzik, Jr. USAF Ret, 75, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1957, passed away on Sunday, February 29, 2004. His wife, Carol Grace Prawdzik, preceded him in death in 1983. He is survived by his girlfriend, Esther Young; his sons, Victor S. Prawdzik III and wife, Susan Shaw, Robert Prawdzik and fiance, Betty, David Prawdzik and wife, Karen; his daughters, Debora and husband, Robert Lucero, Denise and husband, David Garcia, June and husband, Dennis Duran; his grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, Robert Jr., David Jr., and Robin Prawdzik, Vanessa, Jennifer and Robert Jr., Lucero, David Jr. and Federico Garcia, Crystal Reyna, Victoria and Nathan Duran; his great-grandchildren, Davon Guerrero and Cisco Gutierrez; his sisters, Bernice Dundon and Ellen Lawrence; his brother, Preston Kelley and wife, Arlene and his best friend, Dave Leathers. Victor served in the military for 28 years and retired in 1972. He had a very busy and active life. He was past commander of the American Legion Post 122 for four years, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 99, District 12 Executive Committeeman, Department Historian for three years, Post 99 Americanism Chairman for three years, Post 99 Executive Committee for three years, SAL member Post 99, Past SAL 1st Vice commander Post 99, Past President of the Zapata Club and Honorary lifetime member , he participated in Boys State Programs for Rio Grande High School, member of TREA, and lifetime member of the VFW and AFSA. Victor was very proud of each and every one of these. He loved his uniform and was so proud to wear it. "Color Guard Military Service" will be held Thursday, March 4, 2004, 2:00 p.m. American Legion Post 99 located at 540 Louisiana Blvd. NE with reception to follow.
