Janis (John) Filipovs, preceded by his wife, Michalina (Helen) passed away on February 26, 2004 at the age of 83. He is survived by his son, Aleks; and daughters, Toni and Anna; four grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. John, a long time resident of Albuquerque, retired from Borden's Diaries as a mechanic in 1985. He was a WWII Veteran of the British Army, Intern'l Brigade, Latvian Division and received the Medal of Honor. Memorial Services will be held at his home on March 13, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Presbyterian Hospice Program or the American Cancer Society.
