William Safford Chaney, Jr., 55, a resident of Belen, died Tuesday, February 24, 2004. He is survived by his father, William Safford Chaney, Sr.; his step-mother, Lucille Chaney; his wife, Leslie Chaney; two brothers, Robert and John Chaney; dogs, Rusty and Alex; and his two best friends who will miss him, Bruce Krohn and Ken Dusenberry. William's father was an engineer in Los Alamos and William followed him in that field receiving two master degrees from the University of New Mexico, one in electrical engineering and one in mechanical engineering. Bill liked to hunt, and tinker with his tools, read and listen to classical music. He was a fan of Scottish history and lore. A Memorial Service will be at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Monday at 2:00 p.m. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
