Obituary for SANTILLANES

Jose (Felipe) Santillanes, age 66, beloved and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend was called home by our Heavenly Father to join his beloved wife Marcella, Tuesday, February 24, 2004. Felipe was born in Bernalillo to the late Felipe and Eufelia Santillanes. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 9928; and a member of the Moose Lodge # 1517 of Albuquerque. He was the owner and operator of Phil's Transmission Shop; and was well known for his excellent workmanship. Felipe is survived by his loving children, P. Leroy Santillanes of Albuquerque, Yolanda Padilla and husband Cippy of Rio Rancho, Geraldine Valencia and husband Rick of Bernalillo and Consuelo Santillanes and Tomas Gutierrez of Albuquerque; 12 precious grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Manuel Santillanes; two sisters, Rosario Mendoza and Lizzy Madrid; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Felipe will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. till the time of Rosary in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. this evening. Final viewing will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Casket bearers will be Fabian Padilla, Matthew Santillanes, Ramon Santillanes, Esperanza Santillanes, Christina Santillanes and Jaclyn Valencia.
