Obituary for GALLEGOS

Rita P. Gallegos of Albuquerque, NM has been called to be with our Lord in heaven after a brave battle with cancer. Rita was born December 16, 1933 in the town of San Marcial, NM; although she had no biological children she loved and cared for many generations of family members as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Esther Gallegos of who she devoted her life to caring for them. She is survived by her sisters, Marian Jaramillo and Margaret Moya, Veronica Gonzales and her husband Ernest; and many nieces and nephews. Rita will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those who knew and loved her. "For your maker is your husband, the Lord of Hosts is his name." "Sing O' barren, you who have not borne! Break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman," says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:1 & 5). Rita will lie in state Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church; where a rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John Moya, Jimmy Jaramillo, Michael Gonzales, Eli Miera, Leroy Lucero and Jonathan Prudencio.
