Karl B. Rueb, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 45 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret (Peggy); son, Randel Rueb; daughters, Robyn Steele and Rhonda Ristaino, their husbands Walter Steele, David Ristaino; and five grandchildren, Katrina and Kiel Steele, and Andrea, Kaitlyn and Tess Ristaino; niece, Ronelle Kotter; nephews, Bill and Scott White; and brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Shirley White. Karl was born in St. Francis, Kansas on October 14, 1931 to Lydia Fichtner Rueb and William Rueb. He grew up on a farm in western Kansas/eastern Colorado and attended school in both states. Karl graduated from the University of Colorado in 1956, with degrees in engineering, business and education. He was called to serve in the Air Force during the Korean War. Karl worked for 38 years at the Department of Energy in Albuquerque, hiring on when it was AEC, and retiring in 1994. Karl has been a long time member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and Elder. Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to Immanuel Presbyterian Church, building fund at 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87106. A visitation will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary on Friday, February 13, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., family will be present from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to receive friends and family. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE, on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of: Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE 842-8800
