Shirley Helen Deardeuff Caldwell, 63, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and a longtime resident of New Mexico and Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. Shirley was born March 22, 1940 the daughter of Paul E. and Evalean E. Smith Deardeuff in Illinois. She moved to New Mexico in 1953. She was a member of the Meadowlark Senior Center. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Thomas R. Caldwell in 1998. She is survived by five children, Carmen Kay Nagy, Darryl Joe Edwards, Debra Lee Whitley, Diana Lynn Wessels, and Michael David Moseley; one brother, Paul E. Deardeuff, Jr.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho It has been suggested that memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to the Meadowlark Senior Center, 4330 Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, New Mexico 87124.
