Obituary for CHAVEZ

Edward R. Chavez, 33, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2004. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in January of 2001, and received a bone marrow transplant in Tucon, Arizona in April 2001. He was in remission until August of 2003 when he was diagnosed with another form of Leukemia. He fought his disease bravely until the end, was courageous and never complained about what he was going through. He enjoyed going hunting, and loved spending time outdoors. Edward was very loved by his family, and was an excellent husband. An infant daughter Kaylin preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his loving wife, Veronica; his father, Eduardo Chavez and his wife, Rosemary of Cubero; his mother, Ellen Chavez of Belen; his grandmother, Thelma Piffer of Kingman, Arizona; his sisters, Tina Chavez, Frances Chavez, and Paula Chavez; his brothers, Jason Chavez, Chris Chavez and his wife, Rhonda, and Agustine Sanchez; and many other loving family members and friends. A memorial service for Edward will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez with Brother Boyd Morerod officiating.
