Kenneth W. Beckstrom 85, long-time Albuquerque resident, passed away February 5, 2004 in Littleton, CO. Born in Raynesford, Montana in 1918. Received Engineering-Physics degree from Montana State University in 1939, served in US Army Air Corps/USAF from 1940 to 1962, retiring with rank of Lt. Colonel. Retired from NM State Highway Department after 18 years of service. He married Marie M. Noll in 1951, who predeceased him in 1990. hey raised four children, son Eric (wife Jamie) of Albuquerque, daughter Martha McKinley (husband Bill) of Parker, CO, daughter Mauria Vokaty (husband Craig) of Highlands Ranch, CO, and son Charles (wife Lisa)of Parker CO. He served his country in WWII in the South Pacific with the 43rd Bomb Group and in Europe with the 398th Bomb Group completing a total of 63 combat missions. He was awarded the Silver Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, and Distinguished Unit Citation with One Oak Leaf Cluster. He served as Squadron Commander in the Korean War. He is survived by his four children, four grandsons, Brad Beckstrom, Connor and Casey McKinley and Ryan Beckstrom. He married Dorothy Francis in 1993. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to a Hospice Program of choice. Memorial services pending.
