Obituary for MAHONE

Clella Bowman Mahone, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away February 3, 2004. She was born January 3, 1913, to Pearl and Sam W. Bowman in Cheyenne, Okla. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1933. She was employed for many years by the Albuquerque National Bank; she retired in 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Mahone, in 1971. An involved community member, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Telephone Pioneers of NM, and Honored Ladies of the Masonic. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Delmar Kirby of Corrales; niece Jeanette and Chris Miller of Rio Rancho; four nephews, Jack and Lisa Kirby of Las Cruces; Sam W. Bowman III of St. Louis, MO; James Bowman of Maryland; Steve Bowman and Lorraine Leftwich of Corrales, and eleven grand nieces and nephews, of whom she was very fond. She was a generous woman who was very loved by family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. Private interment will be held in Santa Fe under the direction of Fitzgerald and Sons Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 92614, Albuquerque 87199-2614.
