Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday February 04, 2004

Alex Michael Layer, five years old, died Monday, February 2, 2004. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Corrie Layer; brother, Eric J. Layer; and sister, Dana M. Layer, all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Mike and Bonnie Dana of Albuquerque; paternal grandparents, Paul and Lorretta Layer of Lockport, NY; great-grandmother, Verbal Murray of Albuquerque; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. How do we begin to share five years, two months and three days with you… Alex was a young man of courage and he loved God and Jesus with all his heart. He absolutely loved being a part of his family. He was a prayer warrior for people he loved and people he didn't even know. Alex was a friend to everybody. He played hard, laughed much and loved easily. We don't know how we can possibly live without him. Services will be held Thursday, February 5, 2004, 1:00 p.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper Road NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday, February 4, 2004, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Noonday Ministry, PO Box 25451, Albuquerque, NM 87125, because Alex loved helping the poor.
