"Al" Adolfo A. Montoya, 71, a resident of Rio Rancho for 27 years, passed away on January 17, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Josephine L. "Josie" Montoya of Rio Rancho, NM; four step children; nine step grandchildren; brothers, Florencio Montoya and wife, Bella of Espanola, NM, Major Dan Montoya and wife Peggy of Albuquerque, NM and Michael Montoya and wife, Sherrie of Roy, NM; sister, Mary Grove of Amarillo, TX; ten nephews; and eight nieces; numerous great nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents Daniel & Isabel Montoya; a brother, Louis; a sister, Geneva; nephew Richard Grove, and step daughter, Patty Torres. Al was a member of the American Legion Post 13. He was an Army Retiree. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1502 Sara Rd., SE Rio Rancho, NM with Monsignor, Douglas A. Raun, celebrant. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Montoya, Elmo DeHerrera, Mike Montoya, Dominic Williams, Victor Montoya and Ken Sand. Honorary pallbearers will be Pvt.
