Obituary for FLORES

Elizabeth Flores, 75, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past thirteen years, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2004. Elizabeth was born October 21, 1928 the daughter of Juan and Julia Migenes in New York City, New York She had been a teacher in the New York Public Schools before retiring and came to New Mexico from New York. Elizabeth was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Rio Rancho; active on the Sandoval County Children's Review Board, former chair person; a member of the Red Hat Society; Route 66 Dance Club; she was a volunteer at the Meadowlark Senior Center and at Rio Rancho Public Schools; was a member of the New Mexico Center for the Performing Arts. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Angel Flores in 1999. She is survived by two children, David Flores and wife Jill, and Nancy Flores Migenes; two sisters, Maria Berek and Julia Migenes; two grandchidren, David Thomas and Amelia Elizabeth Flores; and special friend Tina Carrasco. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Interment will be in the National Cemetery on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 1:30 PM. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tina Carrasco, Bill Pilgrim, Joe Endres, Denise Cudmore, Miriam Gioia, Bob Gioia, and Ronnie Pilgrim. Arrangements by: Vista Verde Mortuary Rio Rancho, New Mexico 892-9920
