May McLean Stirrat Klicker, widow of Robert E. Klicker (d. 1971), was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 22, 1910 of Scotch immigrant parents, May McLean Stirrat (d. 1961) and David Houston Stirrat (d. 1958), the oldest of three children. She we preceded in death by her sister, Jean Wilson Stirrat (d. 1942) and her brother, Robert James Stirrat (d. 1969). Her infancy was spent in Chicago, Williams, AZ, Falkirk, Scotland, and Albuquerque. She was educated in the Albuquerque public schools and received her BA and MA degrees at the University of New Mexico. She was employed by Albuquerque Public Schools for forty and a half years, as a teacher and Assistant Principal of Albuquerque High School. Many honors were bestowed upon May in the field of education among which was being an elected member of the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi. She was a deacon of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of Adah Chapter No. 5 OES, a Past Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Grand Chapter of New Mexico, a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Croydon Chapter Daughters of the British Empire, and Past President of Chapter L, PEO.
