Obituary for YARBER

David and Susan Yarber, longtime residents of Paradise Hills, died in an auto accident on Sunday, January 4, 2004. David and Susan, high school sweethearts, were married in South Gate CA on February 21, 1959. David worked for Public Service Co. of NM from 1959-1974, then for Albuquerque Police Dept. until he retired in 2000. David was a Grand Master of Masonic Lodge #6, a member of the Optimist Club, Data Processing Mgt. Assoc. and an advisor to Job Corps. Susan worked at Presbyterian Hospital from 1981-2003. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, served on the Paradise Hills Fire Dept, and was a member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church where she was in the choir and served on the worship committee. David and Susan are survived by three sons and their families, Scott and Gina of Tijeras, Daniel of Albuquerque, Keith and Heather of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; two step - grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to their children, David is survived by four brothers, Nick Yarber Jr., Johnny, Steve, and Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents. Susan is survived by her mother, Lillian Dye of Albuquerque; and a sister, Becky of Nebraska. Susan was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Hills Blvd at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2004. There will be a Masonic Burial Ceremony for David at Lodge #6, 3801 Osuna on Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paradise Hills UMC.
