Lydia Thorsen, 95, died Tuesday, January 06, 2004 in Rio Rancho, NM. She was a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 33 years. She was born December 26, 1908 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Heinrich Sommer and Nathalia Rebsch Sommer. Mrs. Thorsen was preceded in death by her husband, Thorvald . She is survived by her daughters; Marie Knowles and Lillian Graham, sisters; Elsie, Olga and Alma; grandchildren, Roger Leithead and wife Faith, Kevin Leith, Wayne Knowles & wife Cindy, Susan Tzankow & her husband Alex, Charles Viggers & wife Giselle, Mike & Twila Knowles, Erick Knowles, Janet Knowles; great grandchildren, Jacob & Lucas. Visitation with viewing will be at Vista Verde Mortuary Chapel, Thursday, January 8, 2004 from 3 PM to 5 PM. Visitation with closed casket will continue until 7 PM immediately followed by the Funeral Service with Rev. Donald Neidigk officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, NM.
