Donald S. Lenk Sr., a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died in his home in Scottsdale AZ on December 9, 2003. Don settled in New Mexico after a 27-year career in the US Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Eastern New Mexico University and a Masters degree from New Mexico Highlands University. He taught in the Albuquerque Public Schools for several years. Don was known for his love of golf (he made three holes in one) and his passion for growing tomatoes. He supported Albuquerque organizations that provided for the poor and homeless. Don is survived by his wife Myra of Scottsdale, his brother John of Vergennes VT, three children, ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
