Obituary for CUNICO

Fred Cunico, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 26, 2003. Fred was a native New Mexican born near Raton on December 23, 1912 to Chris and Antonia Basso Cunico. Fred enjoyed oil painting, adored Italian opera, enjoyed hunting, and was a world class fly fisherman. He was active in several organizations including, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, proud member of the National Rifle Association, and a devoted member of Trout Unlimited. Fred is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mariette; his children, Juliette Cunico and Frederick A. Cunico, both of Albuquerque; brother, Chris Cunico and wife Pearl of Raton, NM; sisters, Anne Chrapkowski and Emma Allen; granddaughters Marguerite (Mimi) Peavy, Mariette (Syd) Peavy, Rachael Donaldson; his great-grandchildren, Colette Peavy-Hardman and Natalie Peavy, several nieces, nephews and many cousins. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service for Fred will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in the activity room at The Manzano Del Sol Retirement Center, 5201 Roma Ave. NE, in Albuquerque.
