Obituary for FICHTNER

Leonora (Lee) Irene Prestel Fichtner. A Memorial Service will be held for Leonora (Lee) Irene Prestel Fichtner on Monday, December 29, 2003 at Mount Calvary Chapel , 1900 Edith Blvd. at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon. A reception will follow at the home of Gary Fichtner, 6009 Bear Grass Ct. Lee was born on November 24, 1923 and lived her entire life in Albuquerque. Lee was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. In her lifetime she worked as a beautician, was employed by St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and proudly served several years as a technician at GTE Lenkurt. In her retirement she enjoyed watching hummingbirds in her garden, collecting items made of brass, and curling up with a good book. Family and friends were especially important to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Clara Prestel, and siblings, John Prestel, Joann Barrett, and Paul Prestel. She is survived by siblings, Mary Lou Farinelli, and Clara Prestel, and by her children, Judy Martin, Gary Fichtner, Don Fichtner, Carol Klinger and Gail Bryant. She has nine loving and supportive grandchildren, Kathy Williamson, Karen Stefan, Kim Mitchell, Kristyn De Gross, Garrett Fichtner, Carrie and Jeremy Klinger, and Hannah and Jonathan Bryant. She was especially proud to be G.G. to her six great grandchildren, Cassidy and Meredith Williamson, Noah and Liam Mitchell, and Dillan and Rylee De Gross. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friend, Sachiko Carroll. Lee was lovingly cared for by family and friends during the last days of her life including the time of her passing, early Friday morning, August 15, 2003. Cremation has taken place.
