George Levels, age 77, passed away on December 14, 2003 at his home. George was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Levels and Callie Philpatt of Teague, Texas. George was an avid mechanic; he worked for over 50 years at the Kitchen and Myers Motors Company. George served in the United States Army and received several decorations and citations for the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign, Philippine Liberation, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Ribbon for Japan and a Distinguished Unit Badge. George was a faithful member and in good standing with the following organizations: the I.B.P.O.E of W, the Navajo Lodge # 863. George is survived by his sister, Irene Tinkard; and brother, Ira Levels of Dallas, TX. George will be truly missed by his friends and colleagues. Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, located at 1201 Arno SE, with Rev. W.M. Brown officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., December 22, 2003 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
