Obituary for TRAYLOR

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday December 18, 2003

Merle Stroble Traylor, formerly of Great Bend and Topeka, Kansas, passed away December 16, 2003 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she had resided since 1995. She was born September 18, 1909 in Seward, Kansas, to Ella Keenan Stroble and John Stroble, who farmed in that area. She lived in Seward until May 4, 1940, when she married Vernon Traylor of Great Bend. While living in Great Bend, she was involved in several small business enterprises, but primarily devoted herself to her family, including her children, John, Nancy, and Constance. In 1966 she became a licensed real estate broker, and in 1968, she and her husband moved to Topeka, where they pursued careers in residential real estate. After her husband's death in 1980, she continued to work until shortly before her move to Albuquerque. She is survived by her three children, John, Nancy, and Constance; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Traylor; son-in-law, Richard Miller; grandsons, Grady Miller and Jess Miller; and nephew, James Harris. She will be missed terribly by family members who cherish the memory of her unquestioning love and loyalty. The family deeply appreciates the extraordinary care and devotion of the La Vida Llena staff and Presbyterian Hospice.
