Mary Angelica "Salas" Martinez passed away at her home December 14, 2003. She was born October, 7 in Veguita NM. in 1915. She married Lazaro Salas, with whom she had three sons. After his death in 1959, she worked as a hotel housekeeper to support her family. On a trip to Durango, Mexico in 1972 she met and later married Jesus Martinez. She enjoyed life, her family, friends, laughing, dancing and flower gardening. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jesus; three sons; Robert Salas of Albuquerque, Sammy Salas of Littleton, CO, and Ralph Salas of Albuquerque; a sister, Lucille Tafoya of La Hambra, CA; two grandchildren, Robert, Jr., and Elizabeth; several nieces, nephews cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; and several brothers and sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at San Juan Church in Veguita, NM. Burial will follow at the San Juan Cemetery in Veguita. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 3rd St. SW.
