Obituary for SCIMONELLI

Mariano "Mike" Scimonelli, April 10, 1904-December 9, 2003. He was born in Salaparuta, Italy. Mike came to America with his family at the age of 10. He lived in Brooklyn, New York and worked for the US Post Office. He married Ann Russo in 1930. They have 3 children, Frances Keck and husband, Russ, Margaret Ayers and Roy Scimonelli and wife, Pat. All together they have 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. They moved to Rio Rancho, NM 34 years ago. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; parents, Rosario and Francesca Scimonelli; sisters, Anna, Mary and Rosa. Mike was a loving husband, a wonderful father and playful and adoring grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Mike was a parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for the last 34 years. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Friday, December 12, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 12, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with the Altar Rosary Society, reciting. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho with Monsignor Douglas A. Raun, celebrant. Entombment will follow at Vista Verde Cemetery, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bob Quanz, Rick Quanz, Anthony Gitto, Steve LoGuercio, Marcos Salaz, Joe Iorg, Edward Baca and Michael Anderson.
