Obituary for MILLER

John E. Miller, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 8, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy A. Miller and his brother Kenneth "Zeke" Miller. He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Adelman and her husband, Kenneth; a son, Edwin T. Miller and his wife, Saundra; a son, Charles M. Miller and his wife, Laurie, all of Albuquerque; and a son, James J. Miller of Hayward, CA. John has five grandchildren, Lee Ann Kuchenbecker and family of Elmhurst, IL, Robert Adelman and family of Plano, TX, Erika Miller of Albuquerque, Michael Miller of Annapolis, MD and Leslie Miller of Albuqureque. John has six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. John is survived also by four stepsisters, Ruby Bollenbacher, Ruth Frysinger, Betty Whitling and Opal Howell, all of Ohio. He is also survived by his loving canine companion, Eddy. John was a salesman for Armour & Co. until his voluntary induction into the US Navy on October 9, 1943. He served as a Radarman 2/ c on the DE-702, USS Earl V. Johnson during WWII. John earned the Victory ribbon, Philippine Liberation 1 br. Star Asiatic Pacific ribbon, American Area ribbon and the European African ribbon during his services to his country. He received an Honorable Discharge on December 7, 1945 from the Navy to return to his young family and resumed his sales job with Armour. John was a loving husband, caring for his ailing wife in the family home in her last years. He was a devoted father and grandfather. John will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 12, 2003, at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Mr. Miller will be buried, along with his wife Dorothy, Friday, at 10:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
