Ned Baca, age 73, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in Albuquerque. Ned was born in Santa Fe, NM and was a resident of Pena Blanca. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army; an active parishioner and supporter of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca, who also helped in the rebuilding of the church. Ned was the owner and operator of Baca's General Store. He was a gentle, loving, dedicated family man; who's love was shown through just his smile; always welcoming everyone who visited Pena Blanca. He will live forever in our hearts. Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Maria (Carrillo) Baca; and his in-laws, Ramon and Adelena (Montoya) Mares. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rose Baca of the family home; his son, Stephen Baca and wife Delilah; his precious grandchildren, Amber and Stephen Baca; his brothers, Pilar Baca and wife Alice, Richard Baca and wife Angie, Joaquin Baca and wife Hattie; sisters Connie Anaya and husband Henry, Flora Maestas and husband Lidoro; brothers-in-law, Richard Mares and wife Josie, Ray Mares and wife Martha; sisters-in-law, Edwina Mora and Alicia Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ned will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. A rosary for Ned will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pena Blanca, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Enurnment will follow at the Pena Blanca Cemetery.
