Dean Murphy, 85, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday, November 24, 2003. He is survived by his sons, Gary Dean Murphy and daughter-in-law, Pat Murphy and Steve Murphy and wife, Linda, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Jean Ann Swan and husband, Duffy of Cedar Crest; Diana Johnston and husband Glen of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kim Youngblood and husband, Randy, Julie Keller and husband, Chris, Shawna Matheson and husband, Vince, Tammy Banks and husband, Allen, Michael Murphy, Ryan Johnston and wife Meredith and Kristen Murphy; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Naomi Avery Murphy and his second wife, Eleanor Hall Murphy. "The good Lord gave me two good women." Mr. Murphy was a member of Bethel Heritage Church. He was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 34 years of service. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, with Walter Kaye officiating. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
