Obituary for APPEL

Robert W. Appel, 52, of Las Animas, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2003 in Colorado Springs after a brief illness. Robert was born October 11, 1951, in Washington, DC. Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Appel. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Taylor Appel of the family home near Las Animas, CO; daughters, Julie of Ardmore, OK and Katie of Las Animas; parents, James D. and Marjorie S. Appel of Durango, CO; brothers, John of Santa Fe, Daniel of Albuquerque, and Douglas of Durango, CO; and sister, Suzanne Collier of Stillwater, OK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Manzano High School and served his country in the Navy as a member of Seal Team One, after which he graduated from New Mexico State University. He worked for the USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service at the time of his passing. Memorial contributions may be made to the R.W. Appel Scholarship Fund c/o McClave State Bank, P.O.
