Obituary for PADILLA JR.

Mr. Esequiel (Skippy) Padilla Jr., 80, a resident of Albuquerque, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on November 20, 2003. Mr. Padilla is the beloved husband of 56 years to Mrs. Annabelle Padilla. Mr. Padilla is also survived by; Six sons, Paul and wife, Magdaline of La Verne, California, John and wife, Linda, Michael and wife, Jude, Ronald, Martin and wife, Monica, Joseph and wife, Michelle; four daughters, Mary Ann Villescas and husband, Arthur, Viola Zamora and husband, Sosteno, Dannette Jaramillo and Juan, Trini Arambula and husband, Jesus; 26 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Angela Sanchez and husband Victor, Mauricia Ruiz and husband, Leo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Padilla (Skippy) was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard serving in World War II, a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #26, he worked for the City of Albuquerque Fire Dept. retiring after 25 years of service as Assistant Fire Chief. Mr. Padilla's life was a reflection of his dedicated faith. The Lord was his utmost priority. He was founder and President of the Five Points Neighborhood Association. A visitation for Mr. Padilla will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30am and Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by the Franciscan Friar. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Art Villescas Jr., Timothy Padilla, Sosteno Zamora Jr., Esequiel Padilla, Matthew Sanchez and Christopher Whitaker-Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will be, Diego Padilla, Ray Kuhn, Bernard Barela, Horace Maez, Mark Montano and James Rael. Arrangements by: GABALDON MORTUARY 1000 OLD COORS RD. SW 243-7861
