Candido A. Miera went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2003. He was born on April 10, 1925 in Seboyeta, NM. He served his country proudly in the Army during World War II. He loved ranching, hunting, and the outdoors. "Kandy", as he was known by all his friends, retired from Sandia Corporation. He was an ordained minister and loved to serve the Lord. His mother, Lola Martinez; stepfather, Daniel Martinez; father, Vicente Vallejos; stepmother, Nativid Vallejos; sister, Pilar Martinez; brothers, Jerry Vallejos and Simplico Martinez; and sister-in-laws, Rita Martinez and Lucy Martinez preceded him in death. Survivors include his ex-wife, Sally and their children, Janie Gurule and husband Joe, Diana Martinez and husband Anthony, Danny Miera and companion Rene, Larry Miera and wife Karla, and Lorie Miera and companion Donald; grandchildren, Anthony Gurule and wife Rosamaria and their children, Joseph and Elena, Gerald Gurule and companion Holly and her children, Nicole, Brandon and Waylon, Ruben Gurule, Melanie Estrada and companion Johnny and their daughters, Zena and Iesha, Frankie Estrada and son Raymos, Shawnasi Martinez, Monyce, Shevon and Andres Miera, Lorenzo and Jessyka Miera, Christopher, Jonathon, and Savannah. He is also survived by sisters, Florenia De Herrera, Alice Salazar and husband Sonny, and Lucy Carrillo and companion Cel; brothers, Paul Vallejos, Andy Vallejos and wife, Ida, Eloy Vallejos and wife Virginia, Domancio Vallejos and wife, Nela, Bobby Vallejos and wife, Manuela, Phillip Vallejos and wife Donna, Andrew Vallejos and wife Berna, Polito Martinez and Serafin Martinez. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2003 at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. An Evening Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church, 700 Granite Avenue NW. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church with Rev. Jesus Bermudez, Deacon Max Cisneros and Rev. Ray Neito officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will include, Anthony, Gerald, and Ruben Gurule, Melanie and Frankie Estrada, and Lorenzo Miera.
