Obituary for BURGER

Cleo V. Burger, Jr., 74, passed away on November 10, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM. Cleo was born June 28, 1929 in Clayton, Michigan, the son of Cleo V. and Opal Burger, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, Cleo V. Burger, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Opal of Adrian, MI, brother, Richard of Brookville, FL, sister, Judith of Adrian, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Cleo attended Clayton High School, Clayton, MI and Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, MI. Cleo was a representative of Sterns Manufacturing Company in Michigan before moving to Las Cruces, NM in 1958 where he was employed by Builders Block and Stone until 1967. He relocated to Albuquerque, NM where he was employed by Crego Block Company, later CSTW, Inc. dba Crego Block Company, and in 1993 with CSR from whom he retired. Cleo's main hobby was fishing with his friend, the late Bob Lake. He helped Bob teach a fishing class at UNM and published fishing information in the Albuquerque Journal. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, and especially the fishing. Cleo was an avid reader of all types of books and was very knowledgeable on many subjects. He was always saying, "I don't care what kind of music it is as long as it's played by Glenn Miller." Cleo will be greatly missed by all of his many friends. A memorial service will be held at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd., NE, Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Clyde Stanfield presiding.
