Ruby Kimzey Ransdell died in Temple, TX Tuesday, October 28, 2003. She was born in Scurry County, Texas on November 20, 1912 to Willie and Betty Kimzey of Hermleigh-Phyron Community. She graduated from Hermleigh High School and attended Texas Tech for two years . She then married Clifford H. Ransdell in April 1932 and moved to College Station, Texas. In 1985 they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico area and in 1999 they moved to Temple, Texas. Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church in College Station, Texas where she taught Sunday School at all levels, she was a member of the order of Eastern Star and participated with her husband in his Masonic travels. After moving to New Mexico, she was an active member in the First Baptist Church of Tijeras. When they moved to Temple, Texas she became a member of the Immanual Baptist Church. Our nana is survived by her husband of 71 years, Clifford H. Ransdell; daughter, Bettiann Carlson, of Temple; son, Billy H. Ransdell and his wife, Sandy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; granddaughter, Tracy Ransdell of Conroe; grandson, Troy H. Ransdell, of Dallas; sister, Corky Murrow and husband, Charlie of Synder; brother, Bill Don Kimzey, and wife, Dorothy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Marie Ransdell of Grapevine; and numerous nieces, and extended family members, and many friends. Ruby Ransdell was a devoted mother and a compassionate Christian lady. We will all miss her and her angelic smile.
