Obituary for HEFLIN

Arlene Virginia Heflin, 90, of Heritage Point, Morgantown, WV, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at home. She was born February 13, 1913 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter to the late Charles and Lovie Bender Staub. She graduated from college with her teaching degree and taught elementary school in the Albuquerque School System, West Virginia and Florida School Systems. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where she taught the Bethel Sunday School Class, in New Mexico. She was also a member of the Yucca Temple Number 74 Daughters of the Nile in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Edward A. Heflin of Morgantown; two sons and spouses, Edward A. Heflin II and Cheryl Horton Heflin of Morgantown and Thomas H. Heflin DDS, and Laurie Rupprecht Heflin, of Albuquerque; one daughter and spouse, Susan H. and Gary Carpenter of Morgantown; one sister, Nellene Legg of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren and spouses, Elizabeth and Howard Cauvel, Erin Heflin Quinlin, Kelly and Peter Wilson, Isaac, Olivia, Maggie and Kate Heflin, Scott Russell Carpenter; one great-grandchild, Kate Cauvel; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Harry Staub; and one sister, Donna Lee Shirley. Friends may call on Saturday at the Spruce Street United Methodist Church from 12:00 noon to the time of Service at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. K. Almond officiating.
