Obituary for SANDOVAL

Tiva M. Sandoval, 86, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, with her daughters at her bedside, at the Tucson Medical Center, Tucson, AZ on October 23, 2003. Tiva was born in Manzano, New Mexico and had lived in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and several years in Santa Fe before moving to Tucson to be with her daughters. Tiva was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Martinez and Lupita R. Martinez; and five brothers, Ernesto, Mateo, Ismael, Jose and Demecio. She is survived by her two daughters, Elena Sandoval and Viola Garcia and husband, Armando; two grandchildren, Odelia (and fiancee, Charles Ball) and Gabriel Sylvester Garcia, all of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by two sisters, Frances Martinez and Ursula Cid; one niece, Mary Cathy Martinez; one nephew, Jose Ismael Martinez; and one great-nephew, Charles Martinez, all of Albuquerque. Tiva is also survived by her Godchild, Christela Zamora Vallo of Albuquerque whom she loved very dearly; and survived by several cousins and friends who loved and will miss her. Friends may visit Garcia Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thereafter, a Rosary will be recited by Deacon George Sandoval at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Edmundo Rodriguez at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW on October 28, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose I. Martinez, Armando Garcia, Orlando Valdez, Eddie Sanchez, Anselmo Bowels and Eleno Zamora. Honorary pallbearers will be Flavio and Lupita Martinez and George and Sally Romero.
