Obituary for RODGERS

Derrill Rodgers, 82, died peacefully in Albuquerque after a brief illness on October 21, 2003. Derrill was born February 14, 1921, in Field Creek, TX to Ray and Stella Rodgers. He married Jessie Mae Nowlin, who preceded him in death in March of 1989. Derrill was a WWII Veteran and served in the US Army Air Corps. He was the manager of wholesale distribution for Ponca Wholesale, and was a member of the Elks. Derrill is survived by his sons: Douglas L. Rodgers and wife Sandra of Albuquerque, and Ray F. Rodgers and wife JoAnn of Santa Fe; daughter, Linda J. Rodgers of Albuquerque; granddaughters: Tara Rodgers of Florida, and Jennifer Rodgers of Orange, CA; grandsons: Derrill P. Rodgers of Broomfield, CO, and Scott Rodgers of Albuquerque; and nephew, Larry Rodgers and wife Mikeline of Santa Fe. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, Berardinelli Family Chapel. Funeral Service will follow in the Berardinelli Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Harold Chiolero, pastor of Temple Beth Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m., Santa Fe National Cemetery.
