Obituary for HATCH

Cloyd Hatch, 87, a resident of Ramah, New Mexico and formerly of Belen and Albuquerque, passed away in an Albuquerque hospital after a short illness on October 18, 2003. George Jeremiah Hatch and Elnora (Brimhall) were the parents of 13 children, Cloyd being the youngest was born March 15, 1916 in Fort Thomas, Arizona. His parents; all his siblings; his first wife, Janice; and their oldest son, Scott, preceded him in death. He worked for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company for over 30 years and retired in 1975. Next to his family, his true love was raising and working with his Arabian horses. He loved being in the "horse business" as he often put it. Cloyd started raising Arabians after he retired from the telephone company and was in the business until September of this year. He has been a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by his second wife, Elsie (Lewis) Boyd Hatch, resident of Ramah, New Mexico; Gary L. Hatch and wife, Pat, of Greeley, Colorado; Gayle Nissen and husband, Jim, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Carl L. Hatch and wife, Nyki, of Tijeras, New Mexico; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great -grand children, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held in Safford, Arizona on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. and a Memorial Service will be held in Ramah, New Mexico at the LDS chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Strong-Thorne Mortuary locally and Carl Morris Mortuary in Safford.
