Obituary for ZOBEL

Virginia C. Zobel, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003. She is survived by her sons, Robert L. Zobel Jr., of Bonaire, GA and Dr. Richard C. Zobel and wife, Linda Jo of Albuquerque; grand children, Jennifer Daniel and husband, Clark of Charlotte, NC, Crystal Meyers and husband Sean of Jupiter, FL, Joseph Zobel of Albuquerque and Alex Zobel of Ft. Worth, TX: her sister, Elizabeth Cunningham of Nashville, AR; and sister-in-law, Shirley and husband, Dr. Sterling Clark of Fowler, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Robert L. Zobel, who was the area medical officer in Albuquerque for the BIA for many years. Virginia was born in Mena, AR in 1916. She received her BA in teaching at Henderson State College and went on to teach in the Lakeside School District before marrying Dr. Zobel in 1941. She traveled around the world with her husband and boys while stationed in Bangkok, Thailand where he was with the World Health Organization, in the 1950s. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2003, at 11:00 am, at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro, NE, with Rev.
