Obituary for WEDDELL

George. Lt. Col. Ret., USAF George Frederick Weddell, 86, died Saturday, October 11, 2003. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1969. He is survived by sons, Peter Weddell and wife, Michelle of Hemet, CA and Douglas Weddell and wife, Dina McElley of Livermore, CA; daughters, Chris Mullins and husband, Darrell of Portales, NM and Suzanne Smith and husband, Steve of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Chandler Weddell, Scott Weddell, Jana Beck, Jeff Weddell, Nik McElley, Nicole Smith and Jacqueline Smith; great-grandchildren, Olivia Weddell and Claire Weddell; sister, Mary Meehan of Banning, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Weddell. George served in the Army and Air Force for over 30 years in Newfoundland, Hawaii, Korea, Thailand and stateside. He retired in 1971 as a Lt. Col. in the Defense Atomic Support Agency at Kirtland Air Force Base. He was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held Monday, October 13, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 2903 19th Ave., Rio Rancho with Fr. Walt Smith, officiating. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
