Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday October 12, 2003

Igrid A. Walker, died October 6, 2003. Born October 27, 1938 in Eschollbrucken, Germany she grew up and lived most of her childhood in a small village. On December 3, 1958 she married Stan Walker, an American Air Force airman. They moved to New Mexico, USA and raised two sons, Mike and Roy, living in cities in both New Mexico and Texas. Ingrid was an incredible cook. She baked cheesecakes for local restaurants for the enjoyment of their customers. An accomplished artist, she created hand beaded and sequined Christmas stockings for many friends. For the past three years, her work has won first place ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair. Her greatest treasures were her granddaughters, Lacey and Natalie. Oma was a very devoted grandmother whom found great joy in spoiling her grandchildren. Her loving spirit will remain with us forever. Surviving are her husband, Stan Walker; her son Mike Walker and his wife, Kerry; and two grandchildren, Lacey and Natalie Walker; sisters Elisabeth Schocker, and Tilly Wick. Her son, Roy Walker, preceded her in death. Ingrid will be buried in Eschollbrucken, Germany along side her relatives. Funeral services at the village church will be scheduled at a later date. A Memorial Service will be coordinated in Albuquerque to take place at the time of her burial in Germany. Aspen Funeral Alternatives 1935 Juan Tabo NE (505) 323-9000
