Obituary for CAMPBELL

Meland B. Campbell, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, October 11, 2003. She is survived by her sons, Michael Campbell and wife Linda of Albuquerque, and Leslie Campbell and wife Nancy of Tempe, AZ; step-sons, Ilo G. Campbell and wife Purificacion of Arlington, MA and Jerry Campbell and wife Barbara of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Jaime Campbell of Albuquerque, Jodi Ward and husband Eric of Fort Mead, MD, and Alexander Pegues of Albuquerque; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Helen Ward; and former daughter-in-law Ann McGarrah. She is preceded in death by her husband Ilo Campbell and her great granddaughter Laura Ward. Meland was born and raised in Corsicana Texas. She attended and graduated from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. Following graduation Meland held various positions in the federal government, working in Washington, DC, Cincinnati, Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas. Meland and Ilo were married in Amarillo, Texas on July 30, 1950. They moved to Albuquerque in 1954. Meland returned to the workforce in 1959, as office manager for the orthodontic group of Dr. Bleuher, King and Lutz, retiring in 1976. Memorial mass will be held at St. Peters Holy Catholic Church Anglican Rite, 8100 Eubank (Paseo at Eubank) on Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to one of the following: St. Peters, 8100 Eubank, Albuquerque Presbyterian Hospice, 8100 Constitution Pl.
